Zagreb celebrates the season of Advent in most spectacular way by lighting a candle on Manduševac. Advent season lasts until till mid of January. Celebration continues on every square in the centre. Festive time takes place on Zagreb main square, Cvjetni, European square, Tomićeva street where you can enjoy concerts for all ages
In the nearby streets traditional Christmas market offers decoration made by Zagreb artists and craftsmen. Besides Christmas shopping, visitors can also enjoy mulled wine and sausage or gingerbread, honey cakes, smell of baked chestnuts or fritule which is kind or traditional made donuts which I love with chocolate on top.
Main square “ Trg bana Josipa Jelačića” – hosts an open air stage at the main square will host a wide variety of events as cultural , children’s and art performances, including concerts
Tomićeva Street – innovative modern program called “Fuliranje” originating from an old Croatian movie now becoming the part of Zagreb slang , everybody wants to be seen here, a place to go out on Friday night, listen to music and drink grappa.
Zrinjevac ice park – ice parl looks like a movie scene for Christmas fairy tale and it is favourite park for us locals, especially convenient for children’s ice skating
